I have been seeing Busy Books online and with some of my families. It seemed like something that might be helpful to have for my little one while I'm making dinner or when we're out to dinner. I wanted to print him up one but they were all advanced for him more for preschoolers. I wasn't interested in writing letters yet or number recognition. I wanted to start with colors, understanding sizes, shape matching, and identifying familiar items.

I got on Canva, my new favorite site, and got to creating. I started with basics, Colors, counting to 5, letters, shapes, and a "My family" page. I've also added some things I had seen in other "Moring Menus" with weather and emotions. I made them a little simpler with only 4 options. I haven't added a calendar part yet but I think that will be something that will be added later. I didn't feel like he was old enough yet. I posted it in my TPT store The Sassy Speechy's Things.
My Little guy used his book in the car on a 5 1/2-hour drive to the grandparents. He named several family members on his "My Family" page. We've been looking at it often and he can point out and name the happy face, green, and the sun.

Then I also made an add-on with Fall themes going over counting, shapes, colors and size with things that go along with the fall themes I have on here, Apples, (spoiler alert) Pumpkins, Farm, and Fall. Most of the pages for the add-on are just print, laminate and go, except for the size part. You cut out some apples to sort sizes.

I also added an Interactive Farm Book from Allison Fors to my book. It was made for Speech Therapy with Wh questions and categories. I just did the 3 pages of the book with the scenes and pieces. We use them for identifying, storytelling, and following directions. He loves it. It's his favorite part of the book. However, I will say, take the extra step to cut, laminate and cut again. I tried to be lazy about it and now they're peeling apart so I'm going to have to redo them. I used "Stick it and Re-stick it" instead of Velcro so that he could place it wherever he wanted.
Now that we are just home we use the book throughout the day. We will look over the pages in the morning instead of TV time. This could also work for homeschooling families. When the older kids are working on their bookwork the littles can do their "bookwork" too. If you laminate they can write on them with a dry erase marker too if they want.
I plan to add other add-ons later for other seasons. As my little one gets older, I will add more advanced skills too.
