Everyone is stuck at home and therapists can't come out to help and teach your little one, but you are your childs #1 teacher everyday. Even when therapists can come out, you are your childs most important teacher/therapist. You may not have gone to school to learn Child Development Norms or how to elicit speech sounds, but no one knows your child better. No one gets to spend more time with your child either, especailly now. You can work on goals and skills anytime of the day.

Let's start with Breakfast. These are goals your therapist may be working on and here is how you can work on them too.
-Imitates target words/sounds- While sitting for breakfast, talk to your child. Make sounds to your child "mamama, dadada, bababa" working on whatever sounds your child can make. If they can say words, great, talk to them, name items in the kitchen, name people at the table, talk about what your eating "Oh those are yummy eggs."
-asks for "more"- give only a few blueberries and try to get them to ask for "more" or sign "more" if that's where they're at.
-Asks "What's that?"- Ask them what they're eating, or look at the things on the cereal box. "Oh there is a Tiger." Or "there is a bee".
-Names 3 colors- Name the colors of those Fruit Loops or on the cereal box. Have some fruits- red strawberry, blue blueberry, green kiwi, or an orange orange.
-Self feeding skills- If your child isn't self feeding yet, then encourage them to use a spoon. Practice with the open mout cups.
Describe textures- this oatmeal is mushy and the cheerios are crunchy.
Hot/cold- The waffle is hot, the milk is cold.

These are examples for breakfast but really it can be done at any meal. Make things fun, change things up. Have a meal where everything is the same color- only eat orange food, orange mac and cheese, carrots, oranges, orange juice. Or Green foods- peas, brocolli, dye the eggs green or use spinach in them, put spinch or kale in your pasta. Have pancakes and eggs for dinner.
Try to have fun and don't take things too seriously. We're all going crazy being stuck at home and with all the uncertainty. All you can do is take it day by day.
I found these pictures on the website. I thought why not give it some color. They kind of go. lol
